The Fluralp is a hunting lodge and, as such, is (as far as we know) not an official walk, therefore not to be recommended. But we did it when local friends showed us the way. It is on the right bank of the Alvierbach, fairly high up, but we will say no more. The walk does cross lots of rocks and some scree, the area changes every year because of flooding, and it can be dangerous. The third time we tried to go there, we had the sense to realize that conditions that year were bad and we turned around and went back.
The walk climbs for a while through woods and then high brush.
It comes out into an area of short evergreens.
Then it gets steep and rocky.
More climbing through rocks before continuing on the other side of this ravine.
The path narrows and goes right along the edge of a dropoff. Why didn't they put it higher up?
At last, the hunting lodge.
View above the lodge
View across the valley towards Niggenkopf and the Zalimtal
Another year, in the sunshine again.
Beautiful Türkenbund-Lilie
Much ice in 1995, generally dangerous conditions in places.
Looking at where we might wind up, we turned back.
