Fluralp

The Fluralp is a hunting lodge and, as such, is (as far as we know) not an official walk, therefore not to be recommended. But we did it when local friends showed us the way. It is on the right bank of the Alvierbach, fairly high up, but we will say no more. The walk does cross lots of rocks and some scree, the area changes every year because of flooding, and it can be dangerous. The third time we tried to go there, we had the sense to realize that conditions that year were bad and we turned around and went back.
The walk climbs for a while through woods and then high brush. sj91 46a056 It comes out into an area of short evergreens. sj91 46a057 Then it gets steep and rocky. sj91 46a060 More climbing through rocks before continuing on the other side of this ravine. sj91 46a063
The path narrows and goes right along the edge of a dropoff. Why didn't they put it higher up? sj91 46a062 At last, the hunting lodge. sj91 46a064 View above the lodge sj91 46a071 View across the valley towards Niggenkopf and the Zalimtal sj93 49a053
Another year, in the sunshine again. sj95 54b012 Beautiful Türkenbund-Lilie sj95 54b015 Much ice in 1995, generally dangerous conditions in places. sj95 54b013 Looking at where we might wind up, we turned back. sj95 54b014
