From there some young and strong people go on directly to Mannheimerhütte in one day via Leibersteig, a pretty hairy 'path' that clings to the northern side of the mountain range north of Panülerkopf and the Brandner glacier. We preferred the southern route via Südwandsteig, when we went to Mannheimerhütte a few years later, since you can get up to 2000 m with the cable car. Panülerkopf (2858 m) in the background.
