The Elephantine Island at Assouan

We made a very nice walk around the Elephantine Island, which is in the middle of the Nile at the level of Aswan. Here there are a Nubian village and some lovely fields. The walk was very pleasant, passing through the narrow village streets with their brightly-colored houses. We climbed over a low wall and crossed green and brown fields.

We made a stop in a charming little museum, with tea and local bread and fresh salted cheese with cane "honey" (in fact, syrup).
